In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we thought you’d enjoy a simple but delicious beer “cocktail” recipe.
You can’t do a much simpler ingredient list than this:
- One bottle or can of Young’s Double Chocolate Stout
- One bottle of Lindeman’s Kriek (black cherry) Lambic
- A glass (Champagne flute or lager glass look great, but any will work)
- A spoon
Proportions for the drink:
60% stout, 40% cherry lambic (but you can certainly adjust to taste)
Let’s let Heather, Total Wine & More’s beer buyer take you through the steps:

Step one: Get your chilled beer ready!

Step two: Gently pour the lambic down the side of the glass

Step three: Deftly pour the stout over the back of a spoon, creating dark and ruby layers

Step four: Let the fizz settle and enjoy!
Sounds like a yummy “cocktail.” I’ll have to get some Stout and Kriek – at Total Wine & More, of course.
