OK, this week of puns has pretty much jumped the shark … but we still have a few more Sharktails to share. They haven’t lost their bite just yet! Enjoy these killer shark-themed cocktail ideas as you channel-surf TV this weekend.
And don’t think our Sharktails are dead in the water just because the week’s almost over. Saturday, as all the sailors and fishermen know, is National Rum Day, so we’re floating a few ideas for tasty rum drink recipes as well as tequila drink recipes. We’re in the tank for all of these Sharktails. Cheers!
Rum Drink Recipe: Hungry Shark Daiquiri
- 4 ounces Doorly’s Macaw White Rum
- 1 cup coconut water
- 4 ounces Coco Real Cream of Coconut
- 1 ounce grenadine (plus more to pour into the shark’s mouth)
- 1 cup ice
- Garnish: plastic sharks
Fill blender with Doorly’s Macaw White Rum, coconut water, cream of coconut, ice and grenadine. Blend mixture and pour into serving glass. Garnish with plastic sharks filled with grenadine. Yield: 2 servings

Tequila Drink Recipe: Shark Paloma
- 2 ounces Don Sergio Blanco Tequila
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 5 fresh cherries
- 1/2 cup ice
- Grapefruit soda
- Garnish: Fresh cherries and a plastic shark
To a cocktail shaker add Don Sergio tequila, lime juice, four cherries and ice. Muddle mixture, shake for 20 seconds then pour mixture into serving glass. Top with grapefruit soda. Garnish with one more cherry and a plastic shark. Yield: 1 serving
